COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Padgett, Bolster Win Wrestling Titles
Matt Padgett of Rancho Santiago and Mike Bolster of Golden West won individual titles Saturday in the Fresno City College Invitational wrestling tournament.
Padgett pinned Ron Davis of Bakersfield in 5 minutes 35 seconds to win the 167-pound title. In the heavyweight class, Bolster pinned Joe Damirjian of East Los Angeles in 6:10.
Rancho Santiago took fourth in team scoring with 41 points. Golden West was ninth. Fresno easily won the team title with 105 points.
In the Golden West men’s water polo tournament:
Golden West wins title--Corey Delahunt scored three goals and Michael Rubottom had two to help Golden West defeat Long Beach City, 9-7, for the championship.
Golden West goalie James Marland stopped eight shots by Long Beach and had 20 saves for the three-game tournament.
