San Jose State limited its own mistakes and capitalized mightily on those by New Mexico State to record its first victory of the season, 52-13, at Las Cruces, N.M.

San Jose State had only one fumble and recovered two by the Aggies and intercepted five passes, resulting in 35 points.

“We got every conceivable bounce of the football today,” said San Jose State Coach John Ralston.
