THOUSAND OAKS : Fire Scorches Large House Being Moved
A large house that was being moved into the exclusive Santa Rosa Valley area was engulfed in flames Monday before it even touched its new foundation, a Ventura County Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Firefighters worked for over an hour to control the blaze, which engulfed one side of the large house valued at more than $800,000. Damage was estimated at $250,000, Sandi Wells said.
The home had yet to be reassembled on the lot at 13162 Andalusia Drive in the unincorporated area between Thousand Oaks and Moorpark, Wells said. Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
