Ryan Collins will replace struggling Frank Costa as Miami’s starting quarterback Saturday against Syracuse.
Costa, the designated successor to Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta, Costa has a stronger arm but is less mobile than Collins.

Bill Marolt, Colorado’s athletic director, was reprimanded by the Big Eight Conference for chastising officials after the Miami-Colorado game in Boulder on Sept. 25. Marolt charged onto the field in an attempt to confront officials during the first half of the game. Later, Marolt called the Big East crew of officials “an embarrassment to college football and the integrity of the game.”
