COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Even Celebrations Have Their Limit

Share

There was a time limit put on UCLA’s celebration of the 39-25 victory over Washington: 4:15 p.m. Monday.

That’s when practice for the Oregon State game began.

“What I mentioned to our coaches was that I really wanted our players to enjoy the Washington win until 4:15 today,” Coach Terry Donahue said. “Sometimes, when you go into the film room, you go on to the next opponent and don’t even savor the moment. I told the coaches it would be healthy for them and the players to savor the victory until we go out onto the (practice) field.”

Keeping UCLA from looking past Oregon State toward a game against Arizona Oct. 30 is the challenge.

“The Oregon State game means just as much as the Washington game or the Arizona game,” Donahue said. “It has exactly the same value.

“To tell the truth, to make the Arizona game a big game, we have to make the Oregon State game a big game. “
