Northridge Man Dies When Car Hits Pickup
An unidentified 18-year-old Northridge man died Saturday when his car slammed into the back of a pickup truck traveling south in the 11200 block of Reseda Boulevard near Rinaldi Street, authorities said.
The victim may have been racing with another vehicle when he lost control of his car, said Los Angeles Police Officer Lee Glozer. Authorities said the car was traveling at least 70 m.p.h at the time of the accident.
The car, a late model Honda Accord, slid sideways, hitting the rear of the truck on the driver’s side. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 4:15 p.m., Glozer said. The driver of the pickup truck was questioned and released, police said.
