The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has appointed Michael M. De La Torre of Covina the county’s representative to the five-member Foothill Transit Executive Board of Directors. The executive board manages the operations of Foothill Transit.
De La Torre is chief of staff to Los Angeles city councilman and Metropolitan Transit Authority Chairman Richard Alatorre. He has served in many capacities for the Community Redevelopment Agency of the city of Los Angeles.
He attended graduate school at Cal Poly Pomona, majoring in public policy. In addition, he attended Cal State Los Angeles’ graduate school, majoring in vocational rehabilitation and education. He has a bachelor’s degree in history and ethnic studies from Cal State L.A.
Foothill Transit is a regional bus system.
