Friday Holdings Names Caruso to Editorial Position

Denise Caruso has been appointed editorial director of information services at Friday Holdings L.P., the Paramount Communications Inc. and QVC Network Inc.-backed partnership formed by former Wall Street Journal Executive Editor Norman Pearlstine earlier this year to explore business opportunities for emerging technologies.

Caruso, 37, has served since 1991 as the founding editor of Digital Media, a widely acclaimed newsletter that covers digital convergence issues.

Former Paramount Pictures executive Stephen Bulka has been named executive of development for Nickelodeon Pictures, a company the cable channel has formed with Twentieth Century Fox.

In addition, Pola Ayllon and Craig Titley have been named creative associates.

Bob Shaw has been named senior vice president of management information systems for Atlantic Records.

Maria Kleinman has been named senior director of national publicity for ERG music company.

Jon Helmrich has been named vice president of international development for E! Entertainment Television.

Mitchell Kriegman, executive producer of the hit Nickelodeon program “Clarissa Explains It All,” has agreed to develop and produce new programs for Viacom Entertainment Group, MTV and Nickelodeon.

Robbie Snow is new vice president of product management for MCA Records.

Warner Bros. has named Gary J. Meisel senior vice president and deputy general counsel.

Elizabeth White has been hired as vice president of business and legal affairs at Fox Circle Productions, which develops films for Fox Broadcasting Co. and the new FX cable channel.

Jody L. Horwitz is the new director of human resources for the West Coast for Turner Broadcasting System.

Anthony J. Adamski Jr. has been named director of the U.S. anti-piracy operations of the Motion Picture Assn. of America.
