Three Performances Set for ‘Peer Gynt’ Incidental Music

Noting the 150th anniversary of the birth of Edvard Grieg, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, conducted by Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen, will present the composer’s complete “Peer Gynt” incidental music, in the orchestra’s first dramatized concert performances of the work, three times, Nov. 11, 12 and 14.

With staging by Finnish director Juha Hemanus, these performances will also enlist soprano Solveig Kringelborn, mezzo-soprano Paula Rasmussen, the Los Angeles Master Chorale and two actors. Lighting will be designed by Maidie Rosengarden.

Performances are scheduled Nov. 11 and 12 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 14 at 2:30 p.m., all in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.
