THOUSAND OAKS : Councilwoman to Add New Office Hours

Share

Thousand Oaks residents who want to drop by City Hall and talk to Councilwoman Jaime Zukowski in person can now do so Thursday evenings as well as Monday mornings.

Zukowski has announced that she will receive calls and visitors in City Hall on Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m., in addition to her longstanding office hours Mondays from 8 to 10 a.m.

“Citizens can always contact council members by leaving a message with the city manager, but some people like to talk to us in person,” Zukowski said. “Many people aren’t aware that they can drop in during my office hours.”

She will begin the new office hours on Nov. 18, as City Hall is closed for Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11. Zukowski is the only council member to hold regular office hours at City Hall. Her colleagues find other ways to meet constituents.

Councilwoman Judy Lazar recently held an informal question-and-answer session in a Thousand Oaks shopping plaza and plans to set up similar events every few months. Councilman Alex Fiore also occasionally invites residents to speak with him at the Janss Mall. And both Mayor Elois Zeanah and Councilman Frank Schillo lead citizens groups, which meet several times a year for open discussion.
