Not all the news from Paramount is takeover-related. . . .

David Kirkpatrick, who has had an exclusive production deal at the studio since leaving his post as president of Paramount’s motion picture group in 1991, moved his furniture off the lot Thursday to a Beverly Hills location.

Kirkpatrick, who has about 15 projects in development, is aiming to eventually produce films for other studios in addition to those he has scheduled for Paramount. Among the films he’s working on is “The Evening Star,” a sequel to “Terms of Endearment,” both starring Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine. Another is a film based on the popular 1970s TV series “The Brady Bunch.”

In leaving, Kirkpatrick gives up one of the prime office spots at the studio. Recently ousted Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Chairman Alan Ladd Jr., who now has a production deal at Paramount, is said to be in line to move into the space.

Kirkpatrick’s future at Paramount has been uncertain for some time because of friction known to exist between the producer and Stanley R. Jaffe, president of parent Paramount Communications Inc.

Kirkpatrick was rumored earlier this year to be in line for one of two studio posts at MGM under his former boss at Paramount, Frank G. Mancuso. But those jobs went instead to former Creative Artists Agency agent Michael Marcus, now president of MGM, and former Warner Bros. executive John Calley, now leading the revived United Artists.

Deborah Aquila was named vice president of casting for the motion picture group at Paramount Pictures.

Live Home Videos Inc. appointed Mark Roche as product manager. He will be in charge of development and execution marketing plans for Live’s products, including its Family Home Entertainment label.

Fletcher Foster has been named vice president of public relations for MCA Records. He previously was senior director of national publicity at Arista Records.

Louis C. Fogelman, founder of the Music Plus and Wherehouse music and video chains, is forming L.C.F. & Associates Consulting.
