OXNARD : Car Strikes Man in His Front Yard
Police are investigating what they believe was a deliberate attempt to run down a 20-year-old man as he stood in front of an Oxnard house.
Gus Tapia told officers that a car with its lights out drove up into the yard at 143 Hughes Drive about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday. The car struck Tapia and knocked him against a fence, possibly breaking his leg.
The car then backed out of the yard and drove away before Tapia got a good look at the vehicle, police said.
Police have no suspects.
