Cale Gundy broke three school records and 17th-ranked Oklahoma held Oklahoma State to 31 yards in rolling to a 31-0 victory Saturday at Norman, Okla.

The Sooners, 8-2 overall and 4-2 in the Big Eight Conference, extended their unbeaten streak against the Cowboys to 17 games. The only non-victory during that time came last season, when the teams played to a 15-15 tie.

Oklahoma State (3-7, 0-6) came in with the No. 2 defense in the Big Eight, but it was the Sooners’ defense that dominated. The Cowboys had only one first down--on a penalty--and never drove across midfield. It was their lowest yardage output since at least 1975, school officials said.

“About the only thing you can say about this one is they jumped all over us,” Oklahoma State Coach Pat Jones said. “They just lined up and whipped us like a bunch of yard dogs.”

Gundy completed 11 of 16 passes for 175 yards and threw touchdown passes of seven and 28 yards to Albert Hall. Those gave Gundy 14 touchdown passes this season and 26 for his career, both school records.

His 190 yards running and passing brought his total offense this season to 2,200 yards, breaking the school record of 2,018 set by Jack Mildren in 1971.

Oklahoma gained 507 yards.

No. 21 Colorado 38, Kansas 14--The Buffaloes (6-3-1, 4-1-1) ran their winning streak against the Jayhawks (4-7, 2-4) to nine games at Boulder, Colo., rolling up 598 yards to solidify their hold on second place in the Big Eight and a probable Hancock Bowl bid.

Rashaan Salaam and Lamont Warren, who alternated quarters, rushed for 130 and 115 yards, respectively, as Colorado generated 378 yards on the ground.

“Our line dominated them,” Warren said. “It was just up to the running backs to pick an opening. It can’t get any better than that.”

Freshman June Henley scored both touchdowns for Kansas, one on a 100-yard kickoff return.

No. 24 Kansas State 31, Missouri 21--Chad May threw two touchdown passes to Andre Coleman in the second half, rallying the Wildcats at Manhattan, Kan., and helping Kansas State clinch only its second bowl bid in 97 years.

Depending on the outcome of next week’s games, Kansas State (7-2-1, 3-2-1) is probably headed for either the Aloha Bowl or the Copper Bowl. Since starting its program in 1896, Kansas State has made only one postseason appearance, losing to Wisconsin, 14-3, in the 1982 Independence Bowl.

Missouri (3-6-1, 2-4) led late in the third quarter, 13-10.
