Volunteers to Meet on Hillside Reseeding
A volunteer-driven effort to seed fire-scarred hillsides will begin with a meeting in Simi Valley Thursday.
Officials from the National Park Service and Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy said they plan to meet with volunteers to coordinate the effort and discuss areas where quick seeding could help prevent mudslides.
The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be held at the East County Courthouse, 3855-F Alamo St. in Simi Valley.
Residents interested in volunteering may call Ritch Wells, administrative assistant to Supervisor Vicky Howard, at 582-8010.
