Toddler Hit by Car in Van Nuys Dies
VAN NUYS —
A 2-year-old girl died after she was struck by a car in Van Nuys, Los Angeles police said. The accident occurred about 3:45 p.m. Saturday on Vanowen Street near Gaviota, Officer Tim Wells said.
The child, Lupe Ortega, was standing with family members at a food truck. She broke away and was struck by a car driven by Anna Rivas, 30, of Pacoima.
The child was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center where she later died.
Rivas was not cited or held, Wells said.
