Woman Found in Back Yard Dies of Head Wounds
A woman found in a back yard who had been beaten on the head has died of her injuries, said police, who are investigating the death as a homicide.
Kathy Gibbons, 32, was found unconscious Tuesday with severe head wounds and died early Sunday morning at UC Irvine Medical Center.
Police have few clues in the case, Sgt. Hal Stevens said. He said Gibbons was a transient who had been sleeping in the back yard of a home in the 700 block of South Tamarack Drive.
“We have no witnesses,” Stevens said. “We also don’t know what weapon was used.”
