Mumford Leads UC Irvine to Exhibition Victory

Senior guard Lloyd Mumford hit seven of eight shots in the first half, including three three-pointers, as UC Irvine defeated the Brisbane Southern District Spartans of Australia, 99-61, Thursday night in front of 1,458 at the Bren Center.

Five Anteaters scored in double figures, led by Mumford, who scored all 17 of his points before halftime. Forward Khalid Channell scored 13 points and had eight rebounds. Newcomer Jermaine Avie had 13 points and six rebounds.
