A 13-year-old boy killed by a motorist after he stepped off a school bus was identified by police Saturday as Matthew Fisher of Woodland Hills.

Matthew was struck about 3:55 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Oxnard Avenue and Shoup Street when a speeding car headed west on Oxnard ran a red light and hit the boy, who was crossing Shoup. Matthew was taken by ambulance to Humana-West Hills Hospital, where he died, said Los Angeles Police Officer Clarence Dean.

Driver Joan Mills, 59, was charged with felony hit-and-run. Mills, allegedly distracted by shaking her finger at another motorist who apparently cut her off, continued driving home after striking the child, according to police reports. Her husband returned to the scene, telling police his wife thought she had hit a dog.
