The Toronto Maple Leafs, leaders of the Central Division, got a fortunate bounce with 13 seconds left Saturday night to hand the struggling Edmonton Oilers a heartbreaking 3-2 loss at Edmonton.

“The team’s winning and that’s the main thing,” said Wendel Clark, whose 20th goal of the season tied the score, 2-2, midway through the second period.

Clark, the Maple Leafs’ often-injured captain, drew the second assist on the game-winning goal by Mark Osborne.

Osborne’s third goal of the season at 19:47 of the third period gave the Maple Leafs the victory.

Defenseman Dave Ellett, with his second assist of the night, took the shot from the Edmonton blue line and Osborne tipped it past goaltender Bill Ranford.

Pittsburgh 2, Montreal 2--A lucky goal on a power play by Rick Tocchet at 12:18 of the final period saved the Penguins at Montreal.

Tocchet had the puck slide off his stick at the side of the Montreal net, only to see it bank off Mike Keane’s skate and roll inside the far post.

Dallas 4, Calgary 3--Defenseman Paul Cavallini’s first goal of the season broke a tie at Dallas, ending the Flames’ six-game unbeaten streak.

Cavallini capped Dallas’ rally from a 3-0 first-period deficit, knocking in a goal-mouth pass from Ulf Dahlen, who carried the puck up the right wing on the power play.

Tampa Bay 4, Chicago 3--John Tucker’s goal with 4:21 to play was the difference at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Tucker poked home a rebound from Chris LiPuma’s point shot after being dragged down by Chicago defenseman Jeff Shantz for his seventh goal of the season.

San Jose 3, Hartford 2--Gaetan Duchesne scored two goals and Sandis Ozolinsh scored the game-winner at 13:45 of the third period at Hartford.

Duchesne tied the score at 2-2 in the third period with a shot from the right post at 6:59 and Ozolinsh ripped home his fourth of the season, a blast from the top of the slot.

Detroit 4, New Jersey 3--Vyacheslav Kozlov scored his second goal of the game 29 seconds into overtime at East Rutherford, N.J.
