Competition Open for Minority Screenwriters

The Writers Workshop is taking submissions for its annual screenwriting competition for ethnic minorities living in the Los Angeles area. Deadline is Dec. 17 and there is a $25 entry fee.
Winners receive $500 scholarships and some exposure to agents, studios, producers and directors. Workshop backers are Walt Disney Pictures, Amblin Entertainment, Carsey-Werner Co., MCA/Universal, Norman Jewison, Sony Pictures Entertainment and Witt-Thomas Prods.
Ethnic minorities are defined by the workshop as black, Latino, Asian, Native American and Eskimo.
