ANAHEIM : Pop Warner Bowl Is This Weekend
Thirty youth football teams from California, Arizona and Hawaii will converge on Glover Stadium this weekend for a series of championship games.
The Pop Warner Orange Bowl begins at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last game both days will begin at 7 p.m. The stadium is at La Palma Avenue and Harbor Boulevard, and admission is free. Players range in age from 8 to 15.
One of the featured teams will be the Anaheim Chargers of the Junior Pee Wee division. The team of 8- to 10-year-olds finished its regular season with an 11-0 record, outscored its opponents 259-26 and had six shutouts. It plays at noon Sunday against a team from the Saddleback Valley.
