SANTA ANA — A local music promoter was robbed of more than $100,000 in cash and jewelry after three gunmen confronted him in his garage, police said Thursday.
The victim, Crispin Gutierrez Padilla, told police the men escaped with $95,000 in cash and $15,000 in jewelry after they forced his wife to open the family safe.
Padilla, his wife and their three children--ages 6, 7 and 9--were not harmed, Police Sgt. Ken Ice said.
Ice said the gunmen, described as men aged 18 to 25, confronted Padilla about 9:45 p.m. Wednesday when he returned from a soccer game to his home in the 2000 block of Deodar Street.
The men, all armed with handguns, forced Gutierrez inside and ordered his wife to open the safe.
The robbers fled in a white, full-size pickup truck.
