Booth Captures Rolex Junior Classic
Kellee Booth of Coto de Caza capped an impressive season by winning the 16th Rolex Junior Classic on Sunday at the La Paloma Country Club.
Booth, the 1993 U.S. Golf Assn. junior champion, defeated Grace Park of Phoenix, 2 and 1, for the championship. Park had reached the final by beating top-seeded Kelli Kuehne of McKinney, Tex.
Booth, the 1993 Rolex Junior player of the year, beat Wendi Patterson of Atlanta, 1-up, in the semifinal round. The pair were tied going to the 18th hole but Booth made a par and Patterson a bogey.
The tournament is the final event of the American Junior Golf Assn. season.
