New Officers Should Be Recognized
* On Nov. 21 the Los Angeles Police Academy graduated class No. 593. The men and women of this graduating class distinguished themselves by setting a new academy record for academic excellence. By the time this note reaches The Times, 38 new, highly trained and motivated officers will be on the streets of Los Angeles.
Sadly this notable and pleasant occasion was overlooked by the media.
These men and women who worked so hard to overcome so many obstacles, to finally achieve their goal of becoming members of the Los Angeles Police Department, deserve our gratitude and recognition.
