THEIR OWN GENIE: The Corona del Mar High School girl’s volleyball team has a secret game plan for facing cross-town rival Newport Harbor High School in the state championship game at Cal State Fullerton today (C20). The Corona del Mar team has won every game since mid-October when the girls watched “Aladdin” during the team meal. . . . The one time they missed the movie? They lost to Newport Harbor. “It is all team bonding,” says one player. “It may be nuts but we are winning.”

GOING PLACES: About 60% of Orange Coast College’s students transfer to the Cal State University system. New figures for 1992-93 show it had 1,101 students transfer to that system--second among the state’s 107 community colleges. But it had more transfer to Cal State Long Beach (413) than to Cal State Fullerton (356). . . . Officials also said this week that Orange Coast has transferred more students to four-year institutions in the past decade than any other California community college.

BIKER DAUGHTER: Mark and Sally Wilson of Huntington Beach were on a family outing almost two years ago when their daughter Sarah spotted a motorbike track for youngsters and asked if she could try that. “She started off really wobbly,” recalls father Mark. “Then she just kept getting better, and better.” . . . In fact, Sarah, now 9, is so good that last week she won the national girls’ motocross racing title in Oklahoma City.

HIT PANIC BUTTON: With jails becoming more crowded, the city of Huntington Beach is starting to see more violent types at its 68-bed city jail instead of the usual misdemeanor cases of the past. That’s why the city has ordered panic alarms for its jailers to wear. When a jailer activates the device, colleagues will know who sounded the alarm and where to send help. . . . The city also bought two restraining chairs for violent prisoners. Police Chief Ronald E. Lowenberg says too many inmates are harming themselves--some perhaps to file false police brutality claims.
