BOYS’ SOCCER / ENRIQUE LAVIN : Fremont Shuts Out Pacific Palisades, 3-0

Striker Rene Lemus scored two goals in the first half to help lead Fremont to a 3-0 shutout against Pacific Palisades in a non-league match Wednesday at Palisades.

Midfielder Jose Mireles added another goal in the second half.

Bell 3, Marshall 1--The Barristers scored two minutes into the game and held on to a 1-0 lead until late in the second half. With the scored tied at 1, left wing Jorge Iberri scored the go-ahead goal from a free kick with six minutes remaining.

Garfield 2, Lincoln 1--Tigers’ striker Jose Regalado hammered the ball from 20 yards out for an early Lincoln lead. But the Bulldogs came back and tied in the 38th minute on a goal by Ivan Valente. In the 46th minute, Gerardo Gomez netted the winning goal on a header.

Belmont 2, San Fernando 0--Rookie Jose Salmeron scored twice in his debut with the Sentinels at San Fernando. The sophomore center forward scored in the 10th minute with his head on a rebound. He tallied again 15 minutes later.

South Gate 3, at Washington 2--The Generals blew a 2-1 lead in the second half after coming back from a 1-0 first-half deficit. Rams striker Eric Salazar scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute. Jorge Villela tallied the 2-2 tying goal. Acting captain Julio Guzman scored both goals for Washington.

Locke 2, Manual Arts 2--After trailing 2-0 for most of the game, the Saints came back and scored twice in the second half at Manual Arts. Toiler Edwin Rivera scored on a header in the 17th minute and Selvin Pineda tallied in the 46th minute for the 2-0 lead.

Roosevelt 2, Banning 1--Roughrider striker Agustin Lopez scored twice after Banning opened the scoring early in the second half.

Crenshaw 2, Wilson 0--Cougar forward Jose Diaz scored on a left-footer and Armando Garcia tallied on a personal play.
