Vigilance of Parents Should Be Constant
* I am concerned about the reaction of parents of school-age children to the serial molester in the Valley.
Since the attacks, parents have been escorting their children to and from school and constantly warning them of the dangers of talking to strangers. In addition, the attendance at PTSA meetings has doubled.
Why do parents wait for a crisis situation before they are concerned with the welfare of their children? With all due respect and sympathy to the families of the victims, how many of these crimes could have been avoided if the parents had shown the kind of concern then that they show now?
