One-Stop Business Permit Center to Open in Santa Ana

The second of the state’s one-stop business permit centers will open Monday in Santa Ana in an attempt by state officials to make California more friendly to businesses.

The office is designed to simplify the state’s complicated permitting process and will include information from Orange County’s 31 cities. Called the Orange County Permit Assistance Center, the office will be the area’s consolidated location for regulatory and permit information.

“Basically, this office will bring all the folks together for business permitting activity,” said Bob Borzelleri, special assistant to the secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency, which will oversee the new office.

The Orange County office is the second of what will be a chain of such shops statewide. In July, the state opened a center in Los Angeles.
