Whittier Area : Parolee Arrested in Slaying Home of 72-Year-Old Man
Anthony Garrison, 23, of Whittier has been arrested in connection with the slaying of a 72-year-old South Whittier man, authorities said.
Garrison was taken in custody in Whittier Wednesday morning on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of Otto Hill, said Deputy Larry Mead, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Hill was shot Saturday after a struggle in his Mulberry Drive home.
Garrison and another man allegedly broke into the home of Otto and Verna Hill about 2:30 a.m. Verna Hill, 76, was thrown to the floor and slightly injured during the break-in, Mead said.
Earlier, detectives arrested Franklin J. Rardin, 19, of Whittier in connection with the slaying.
A 17-year-old Whittier youth also was arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder in connection with the slaying, Mead said. The youth’s name was not released because of his age.
