MISSION VIEJO : College Reaffirms UC Berkeley Ties

Share

Saddleback College and UC Berkeley have reaffirmed an agreement that guarantees the community college’s students admission into the state’s flagship school.

The Cooperative Admissions Program provides an alternative for high school seniors in the county who meet all of the requirements for UC admissions but fail to receive acceptance into Berkeley as freshmen. Through the program, students can attend Saddleback for two years and then transfer to Berkeley for upper-division work.

Currently, 12 students participate in the program.

Students must complete 56 transferable units and maintain a 3.0 grade-point average. They also must complete the lower-division foreign language, quantitative reasoning, reading and composition requirements.

The program is available to all majors within Berkeley’s College of Letters and Science.

Saddleback College holds transfer agreements with UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, Cal State Fullerton, San Diego State University, Chapman University, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and the University of Northern Colorado.
