The Orange County’s district attorney’s office, which last week fined a Mexican restaurant for allegedly chintzing on the beef in its burritos, has filed another consumer protection lawsuit against a local restaurant--this time targeting tofu.

Prosecutors announced Tuesday that they were taking on a Vietnamese restaurant in Westminster that specializes in tofu, soybean juice and soybean pudding.

Prosecutors contended in the lawsuit that Thanh Son Tofu has for the last four years mislabeled its soybean juice, misbranded its soybean pudding and sold tofu and soybean products that “may have become contaminated with filth. . . .”

Xuan Van Dang, an owner of the restaurant at 9688 Westminster Ave. in Westminster, declined comment. He referred inquiries about the lawsuit to his attorney, who did not return calls.
