Rail Project Remarks Were a Surprise

Share

* I was surprised to find remarks in a newspaper interview by David Mieger, Valley rail project manager for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, about unresolved issues that the MTA has yet to vote upon (Dec. 14).

It appears from his comments that the MTA has somehow decided the fate of the east-west project in the San Fernando Valley. His comments about connecting the Metro Red Line from Universal City to Warner Center, via the Ventura Freeway corridor, seem a bit premature. It casts a negative light upon the board of directors, insofar as it appears that the board has already determined the outcome of feasibility studies of alternative routes. A clarification would be helpful.
