Two extra hours of shooting practice was the right prescription for Michigan’s frustration.

Jimmy King scored 12 of his 18 points in the first half and helped the 13th-ranked Wolverines shake off their holiday blues Monday night with a 111-84 victory over Boston University at Ann Arbor, Mich.

Michigan led at halftime, 53-31, and by as many as 37 points thereafter.

“We passed the ball really well tonight,” King said. “We had a lot of assists (27). The good passes led to open shots, and we hit the shots.”

SMU (2-7) had 30 turnovers.

St. Bonaventure 71, No. 23 George Washington 67--Omo Moses disregarded the set play that Coach Mike Jarvis had called with 15 seconds to play and drove for the basket, only to be met by a bunch of Bonnies.

Moses’ shot never got near the rim and St. Bonaventure (4-5, 1-2) held on to beat the Colonials (6-3, 0-1) in the Atlantic 10 Conference game at Olean, N.Y.

No. 19 Minnesota 89, Northeastern Illinois 62--Voshon Lenard scored 17 points to lead the Gophers at Minneapolis. Minnesota (9-3) built a 45-19 halftime lead when Northeastern Illinois (6-6) made only six of 30 shots.
