Nightcrawlers Still Best When Angling for Bass

Share

Plastic worms have nothing on the real thing. Nightcrawlers remain the top bass-catchers and bass fishermen have been doing plenty of catching during the past week at the Los Angeles County reservoir.

Steve and Phil Arklin of Sand Canyon, with guide Bob Crupi, used the earthworms to catch several bass, the largest a 15-pounder; Chris Poffenberger of Sylmar used a worm to entice a 14-pound 8-ounce bass; Randy Leech of Castaic used one to land a 13-4 largemouth, and Ron Kubes Jr. of Castaic used one to hook a 9-9 bass.

Several smaller bass were taken on plastic worms and other lures.
