Elaine Kennedy, an artist who had lived in Anaheim for many years, died Sunday of a stroke. She was 54.

Kennedy was vacationing in Temecula with her husband, Don, when she was stricken on the golf course on Dec. 29.

Active in the now-defunct Torana Art League as well as the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art, Kennedy was a painter of vibrant landscapes. She died just two days before the opening of her one-woman show, “The River Still Flows,” at the Theatre Arts Gallery, Concordia University in Irvine. A private memorial has been planned for the opening reception Friday night. The university is at 1530 Concordia. The show will continue through Jan. 31.
