Police continued to search for a man who shot and wounded a clerk during a robbery at a Northridge record store, detectives said Friday.

The clerk, Jony Parker, is in serious condition at Northridge Hospital Medical Center with a bullet wound to the upper torso, authorities said.

Detectives are looking for the gunman and a second man who witnesses told police drove the suspect away from the Music Plus record store at 8876 Corbin Ave. after the attack Thursday morning.

Police have described the suspects as males in their early to mid-20s.

The incident occurred about 11:45 a.m. when a man walked into the store, brandished a pistol and told Parker to give him money, said Los Angeles Police Detective Mike Brandt.

Parker handed over money from a cash register, but the man shot him anyway, Brandt said.

After the attack, the gunman got into a small white car outside the store and was driven away by the second man, police said.

Investigators are not sure why the robber shot Parker or how much money he escaped with.

There were several people inside the store at the time, but many customers were unaware there had been a robbery until after the gunman fled, Brandt said.
