Ninth-ranked Arizona used the three-point shot and defensive quickness to defeat No. 25 Marquette, 94-80, Saturday at Tucson.

The Wildcats (12-1) made 13 of 31 three-point baskets in spoiling the return to McKale Center of Marquette Coach Kevin O’Neill, a former Lute Olson assistant.

Damon Stoudamire led Arizona with 19 points. Khalid Reeves had 18 and Reggie Geary and Dylan Rigdon each had 14.

McIlvaine had 16 points to lead Marquette (8-4).

No. 24 California 79, Washington 64--Lamond Murray scored 26 points and freshman center Michael Stewart tied a school record with five blocked shots at Berkeley, helping Cal extend its winning streak to eight games.

The Bears (9-2) are 2-0 in Pac-10 play for the first time since 1986-87. Washington is 2-8 and 0-2.

Cal had a school-record 10 blocked shots.

Stanford 75, Washington State 64--Brevin Knight scored 18 points and Brent Williams added 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the Cardinal at Palo Alto.

Knight scored 15 of his points in the first half to lead the Stanford (9-2, 2-0) to a 35-32 lead at halftime and the Cardinal was able to pull away against Washington State (10-4, 0-2).

St. Louis 77, Arizona State 75--Erwin Claggett scored 24 points and his two free throws with 9.4 seconds to play proved the difference as St. Louis (12-0) won at Tempe, Ariz.

Mario Bennett finished with 27 points for Arizona State (5-5).
