Pop Album Chart : ‘Box’ Pushes Doggy Dogg Out of ‘House’

Snoop Doggy Dogg has been evicted from his “Dogg House”--the nickname for the No. 1 spot on the pop album chart--by Mariah Carey. His “Doggystyle” dropped to No. 4 and he probably won’t take up residence on top, although the album should continue to be a big seller through the winter. Carey’s “Music Box” is still reaping the benefits of her Thanksgiving TV special and her debut on the touring circuit late last year. Her single “Hero,” which just slipped to No. 2 on the pop singles chart, has been a major boost to album sales too. Reba McEntire quietly had one of the fastest-selling greatest hits albums in country music in many years. Her “Greatest Hits Volume Two,” which jumped from No. 15 to No. 9, is over the 2-million mark after four months on the chart. “All for Love,” the single by the all-star trio of Bryan Adams, Rod Stewart and Sting, is the new pop chart leader.
