Beginning tomorrow Metrolink commuter train service will operate seven new trains daily from the Santa Clarita and Antelope Valley. Four of the seven new trains will begin from two new stations in Lancaster and Palmdale.
The new Lancaster station will be located at Lancaster Boulevard and Sierra Highway with parking for 900 cars. The Palmdale station will be at the Lockheed lot located at Avenue “P” and Sierra Highway with parking for 700 cars.
A monthly pass for the complete Lancaster to LA route costs $208, and $65 for a 10-trip pass; from Santa Clarita the cost is $144 for a monthly pass and $45 for a 10-trip pass.
On the Ventura County line, a monthly pass costs $176 for the entire Moorpark to LA run, and $55 for a 10-trip pass.
Tickets will go on sale in Lancaster at 416 W. Lumber St., Unit C. from 1 p.m.-6 p.m. over the weekend and from 3:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. NOTE: A fare includes passage to any directly-connecting form of transit: MTA buses, the DASH system of downtown buses as well as the Metro Redline Subway. Fares purchased in February will also be good through March, in a two-for-one sale.
