Taiwan Will Cut Trade Barriers, Report Says: The China Times said that three days of talks last week between the United States and Taiwan ended with the Taipei government agreeing to cut tariffs on more than 70 industrial products within the next two months. The bilateral talks were prompted by Washington’s call for Taiwan to cut tariffs on 699 items in connection with its bid to become part of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
