The Disney Channel has announced it will launch a new television series for preschoolers in March and that it will soon begin production on two original films.

The new series, “Jim Henson’s the Secret Life of Toys,” will premiere on March 5 at 8:30 a.m. during the channel’s free preview. Set in a nursery, it will follow the adventures of new characters created by Henson Productions.

“The Four Diamonds,” a film tentatively scheduled for a fall 1994 premiere, tells the story of a 12-year-old boy diagnosed with cancer who writes a short story to help him deal with his illness.
