STANTON : Man Who Was Hit by Pickup Truck Dies
A 28-year-old man who was hit by a pickup truck as he tried to cross Beach Boulevard died of his injuries early Thursday, the Orange County coroner’s office said.
Martin Saldana of Stanton was running across Beach near Pacific Street about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday when he was hit by the northbound truck. He was not in a crosswalk, Sheriff’s Lt. Jay Mendez said.
“He had made it to the center divider but as soon as he stepped onto the other side, he was hit,” Mendez said.
Saldana died at 3:10 a.m. Thursday at UCI Medical Center in Orange. The driver of the pickup was not cited, Mendez said.
