From Associated Press
LONDON —
The collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum include the world’s greatest collection of Constable’s paintings, other fine and applied art--and plastic Tupperware housewares.
Britain’s renowned National Museum of Art and Design recently acquired several Tupperware items for its decorative arts collection. Among them is a prototype bowl, “Zuppa a Noci,” an experimental design not intended for production or sale. The bowl was also acquired by the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
The Brooklyn Museum and the Cooper-Hewitt, the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of Design in New York, have also recently added Tupperware designs to their collections.
