DGA Lists TV Nominees

Directors of three separate episodes of the ABC police drama “NYPD Blue” are competing against one another for a Directors Guild of America award.

The guild’s 1993 television nominations, announced Monday, included “NYPD Blue” directors Charles Haid, Gregory Hoblit and Eric Laneuville in the category of nighttime drama series, along with Barry Levinson for NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street” and Lou Antonio for CBS’ “Picket Fences.”

Winners will be announced March 5. Other nominations:

Comedy: Peter Bonerz, “Murphy Brown,” CBS; James Burrows, “Frasier,” NBC; Tom Cherones, “Seinfeld,” NBC; Michael Lange, “Northern Exposure,” CBS; Betty Thomas, “Dream On,” HBO.
