POMONA : County Fair Won’t Raise Ticket Prices
The price of an admission ticket to the Los Angeles County Fair will not change this year, fair officials announced recently.
As with last year’s fair, regular adult prices will remain at $8 and children 6 through 12 will pay $4. Children 5 and younger will be admitted free. However, parking for this year’s fair, which will be Sept. 9 through Oct. 2, will cost $4, $1 more than last year.
Last year, fair officials cut admission prices to 1991 levels because fair attendance and revenues plummeted in 1992 after a 20% increase in admission prices. Fair officials said last year’s reduced ticket prices helped fair attendance reach about 1.4 million--162,000 more than in 1992.
From an all-time high of $4.2 million in 1991, the fair association’s earnings after expenses fell to $850,000 in 1992. Fair attendance dropped from an all-time high of 1.6 million in 1991 to 1.2 million in 1992.
