Davis Love III and Tom Watson took advantage of relatively sedate conditions and light winds to reach the top two spots on the leader board Friday in the second round of the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

While the bulk of the vast gallery flocked to Poppy Hills to watch celebrity amateurs, Love and Watson played at Pebble Beach amid what Watson called “pretty easy scoring conditions.”

Love had four consecutive birdies in a six-under-par 66 that put him at 135, nine under par, through 36 holes.
