Coliseum Repair

* The estimate to repair the Coliseum due to the earthquake is $35 million or more. The county supervisors are looking to the federal government to pick up the bill. Where are those good conservatives who want the federal government “to get off their backs”? I guess when it comes to disaster, “Big Brother” is the logical guy to turn to!

I have an idea for some of the repair money for the Coliseum. How about the National Football League pitching in with some money to help in reconstruction? Owners are now paying football players in the millions, which means they can afford it. Instead of the NFL conning cities to build stadiums for its owners’ benefit, let’s have the NFL give a few million back to Los Angeles for the repair of the Coliseum and, in turn, to benefit the Raiders (as a native son, how I dislike the name “Raiders”!).

Yes, let’s get the government “off our backs” and put some of it on the NFL!
