EARTHQUAKE: THE LONG ROAD BACK : Quake Magnitude Upgraded to 6.7
Caltech and the U.S. Geological Survey said Monday that they are upgrading the magnitude of the Northridge earthquake from 6.6 to 6.7, based on their analyses and the results of digital seismographs from around the world.
An official announcement of an upgraded magnitude is also expected this week from the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colo., a Geological Survey spokeswoman said.
