LAGUNA HILLS : Police Seek Gunman in Bakery Robbery
Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a robber who pistol-whipped an employee of a Laguna Hills Mall bakery early Monday morning and escaped with $2,700.
A Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the gunman, wearing a ski mask, entered through the employee entrance of T.J. Cinnamons shortly after 5 a.m.
The man held a gun on the lone employee working at the bakery and demanded money, which the worker handed over in a bag.
However, the gunman demanded more. When shown an empty cash register he struck the baker on the head with his gun, then fled.
The employee complained of a lump on his head, but declined medical treatment and remained on the job.
Deputies said the gunman is wanted on charges of armed robbery and assault. He was wearing dark pants, a gray sweater or sweat shirt and ski gloves.
