Some Special Choices for Valentine’s Dining

Dozens of Orange County restaurants are offering Valentine’s Day specials on Monday. Here are some of the most interesting:

Amici Trattoria Enoteca is serving a special prix fixe menu for “Romeo and Giulietta.” Garden salad or soup, pasta, a choice of veal chop with fontina cheese in marsala wine or lobster over fettuccine in a creamy sherry sauce, and dessert. The cost is $23.95 per person, plus tax and tip. Dinner will be served from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Garden Bistro, a Mediterranean-style restaurant, will host band Blue Jazz for lunch and dinner and distribute long-stem red roses to its female customers.

Lunch, which is $18.95 per person, plus tax and tip, includes salad with fresh mint and feta cheese, a choice of entree (salmon, chicken or pasta) and a strawberry crepe with chocolate sauce.

Dinner offers the same salad and dessert, with a choice of lobster ravioli or tenderloin lamb chops. The price is $24.95 per person, plus tax and tip.

Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; dinner, 6 to 10 p.m.

DaVinci Ristorante is serving “sherbet Eros” and “swordfish Adonis” on its Valentine’s Day menu. The multi-course dinner is $47 per person, plus tax and tip, and includes other dishes: gnocchi Romeo, salmon Valentino, veal scallop Aphrodite, strawberries Juliette and cappuccino Cupid. The last is touted as “the nectar of love.” Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m.

The Wine Club in Santa Ana is selling roses throughout the weekend and on Monday for $6 a dozen with a purchase of wine or champagne.

Silky Sullivan’s Restaurant & Irish Pub will take a photo of you and your sweetheart when you order the special dinner menu on Valentine’s Day. For $9.95, plus tax and tip, diners can choose from among three entrees: prime rib, chicken with bacon in a brandy brown sauce, or red snapper. Dinners, served until 1 a.m., include soup or salad bar, garlic bread and Irish-style potatoes, rice pilaf or baked potato.

Silky’s is also throwing in a free rose.

A “Valentine Interlude” menu is planned for Friday and Monday evenings at Nostrum Mare Bistro.

The prix fixe dinner is $29 per person, plus tax and tip, and it includes a choice of entree: poached lobster Valentine, grilled pave of tenderloin and duck confit , roast game hen, or veal chop mallorca . Appetizer, salad and soup are served as well, and dessert is chocolate amore --chocolate hearts layered with chocolate cream, berries and mascarpone sorbet, surrounded by passion fruit coulis . In case you and your loved one like to laugh, Raffaello Ristorante will feature stand-up comedy in its lounge from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday through Monday.

The restaurant’s Valentine menu includes such dishes as chicken with mascarpone cheese and radicchio, agnello al rosmarino , and white chocolate souffle.

The price is $29.50 per person, plus tax and tip. Dinner is served from 5 to 10 p.m.

Country lovers may enjoy an evening at the Crazy Horse Steak House. In the adjoining saloon, the club is hosting Jimmie Dale Gilmore Monday evening at 7.

The dinner menu, served from 5 to 10 p.m., includes prime rib, sauteed steak and barbecued ribs. Entree prices range from $15 to $20.
